Want to stay a step ahead of the herd? Your Guide to Adulting is just the book for you. Jam-packed with the latest advice, transforming strategies and resources – it’s a far-reaching guide to adulthood. Whereas in her first book, The GenZ Pocketbook, Rumbidzayi Munyaradzi is empowering young women to prepare for an authentic and abundant life, in this one she’s helping young adults begin their journey of transitioning to the next phase (adulthood) with comfort no matter how challenging the circumstances are. As she says, “Adulting requires you to go on a thoughtful journey to develop your talents, broaden your perspectives, and master yourself, whilst never giving up in the face of obstacles that threaten to keep you small.”

She shares her life lessons throughout the book, including tips on how to keep focus and stay on the right track in any new environment, whether it’s your first job, or your first year on campus. She highlights the importance of networking with people that align with your values as well as being self-aware. The goal here being to immerse yourself in positive ventures and committing to a positive mindset – and the author is speaking from a place of authority and wisdom. She has been mentoring young people across the African continent for over the past three years, and has travelled the world extensively.

The book is made up of five themes: Creating a Vision for Your Life; Sustaining Your Vision; Getting Value for Your Time; Investing in Yourself; and lastly Relationships. These topics are aimed at giving you valuable skills while you’re tackling life’s complexities on issues like: health, finance and careers. What I enjoyed most about the book is that, even though it’s aimed at young adults, I could relate and have learned new survival tactics! It’s all about re-commitment and nurturing your passion at the end. Anyone can start over at any time and it doesn’t have to cost a thing. I was keenly surprised to learn that tech giants like Google offer free online courses that one can consider when needing to reset or refresh one’s life.

This guide is essential in equipping you with abilities that aid you for wherever life takes you. It’s an inviting book peppered with beautiful quotes and vibrant graphic designs.
